'Grammar of the World - Based on Operational Play'

Casco is delighted to invite you to the opening of 'Grammar of the World - Based on Operational Play', a two week presentation by the artist Hwayeon Nam, on Saturday 5 September from 17.00 to 20.00 hrs.
Like many other projects of Casco, the exhibition and the new works on view are the outcome of an evolutionary and social process. Based on the group performances 'Operational Play' which took place in public areas of both Seoul and Utrecht last May in the context of our previous project 'The Antagonistic Link', Hwayeon Nam undertook further inquiries into the issues which the performances addressed: public accountability vis-a-vis the possibility of participation.
The performance was in turn based on the convention of naming military operations since World War II, like "El Dorado Canyon", "Summer Rains" or "Blue Tiger".
